Apple could bring Google Gemini to the iPhone for AI tasks — this is huge |  Tom's Guide

Hey Everyone,

Something big might be in the works, this is a breaking story, so it might appear more like a stub that a full article. Here is the gist of the news:

  • Bloomberg reported that Alphabet and Apple were “in active negotiations” for Gemini to power some features coming to the iPhone this year.

  • Apple also recently held discussions with OpenAI and has considered using its model, according to the people in the Bloomberg report.

This would seriously boost the credibility of Google DeepMind, that has received some bad PR by Elon Musk over on X.

This is potentially very big for the fortunes of OpenAI and their own Search engine that is likely to be related to Bing.

Apple is looking to team up with Google for a mega-deal to leverage the Gemini AI model for features on iPhone, Bloomberg reported. This will put Google in a commanding position as the company already has a deal with Apple as the preferred search engine provider on iPhones for the Safari browser.

We’ll know by June, 2024

This is a breaking story.

The iPhone-maker is in ‘active’ talks to bring Gemini to the iPhone, and has also considered using ChatGPT.
