Hey Everyone,

It seems that Microsoft thought it was a good idea to bribe the EU with massive investments as it’s under scrutiny for its $13 Billion investment in OpenAI that has gone without much oversight or AI regulation.

The 2018 Concordia Annual Summit – Day 1

Microsoft bet big on a ‘Copilot Era’ but has gained a lot of potential antitrust lawsuits for its monopolistic behavior. With massive Cloud investments in Germany and in France’s open-source AI startup Mistral, Microsoft appears to be using its financial power as a soft-bribe.

I suppose this is how the real world works after all? Apple bribing China to gain access to their market is a well known example of the geopolitics of BigTech.

Since Microsoft didn’t disclose the investment in Mistral and not even its stake in the startup was made public, this is clearly very suspect as a EU AI bribe of sorts.
