Yes their first mover advantage is gone in a mere 18 months. Small window tbh.

Wrong. Msft is serving companies with AI through Azure . No one does it better . Agents and copilot will improve . The new direction simply is a way to increase 365 copilot consumption. Not a bad thing

While historically I’ve been a big fan of Microsoft, I get where the pressure is coming from.

Google definitely seems to be doing a better job of integrating AI much more seamlessly than their biggest competitor.

Stack on top of that how many of these other players are quickly fighting to become the dominant player, they’ve got their work cut out for them.

If you had control, where would you direct the company? 🤔 Would you, for example, focus on improving user experience with Microsoft 365, or on core developer experience with Azure? Would you drive adoption of low/no code tools among nontechnical users? Would you abandon AI altogether for something else, like quantum computing?

Everyone needs to keep in mind how early we are in the emergence of a transformational advancement in technology. Yes, Microsoft renames, rebrands, and reorgs too often in a frustrating way that negatively impacts my work on a weekly basis, BUT is that new? Has it stopped them from being a successful platform company? Making snap doom judgements on their potential based on what current consumer-side trends look like and calling their pivot to focus on AI development, “just dumb” is, well… dumb.

I've dabbled with Copilot but it's unclear how I can benefit from it. I pay for ChatGPT and don't see value to do so with copilot.

Microsoft (and others) need to pay attention to what users are saying. There is a growing backlash from people having AI rammed down their daily product use.
